September 23, 2025 Amp Tab for All Our free in-editor completion engine for VS Code, Cursor and Windsurf is now on by default for new installs

Amp Tab is our free in-editor completion engine for when you need to edit code manually in VS Code, Windsurf and Cursor. It's fast (really fast), understands diagnostic errors, and can suggest updates across multiple files. And we've just turned it on by default for all new Amp extension installs.

If you’ve already installed the Amp extension, you can run “Enable Amp Tab” from the command palette (Cmd+Shift+P on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows/Linux) to get started.
